  Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)
The nomenclature of PGDBM (AICTE Approved) has been changed to PGDM (AICTE Approved) from Academic
Year 2007-2009

AIM's programme for its Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), approved by AICTE, is spread over two years. Each academic year is divided into three terms. The programme consists of 35 courses (23 compulsory and 12 electives).

In the first year, students are exposed to core courses in all functions of management. At the end of the first year, students are required to spend approximately 8 to 10 weeks in an organisation doing a project on some significant aspect or problem of management. The objective of the summer project is to provide students with opportunities to observe an organisation in operation and to relate what they have learnt to actual practice. Students are required to work under the guidance of senior managers in the organisation and submit project reports to their guides in the organisation as also to faculty guides for evaluation. Students are encouraged to pick up problem-solving projects and be part of the firms while implementing the same.

In the Second year, besides completing the integrated management core courses, students pursue elective courses in the areas of interest to better equip them for a career in management. The curriculum has been developed to prepare future managers for different roles and careers in enterprises and also to be successful entrepreneurs themselves.

Students are expected to spend considerable time outside class-hours in preparing cases and assignments which may involve extensive use of the library, computer lab and field visits for the purpose of collection of data and their interpretation.

The Institute's academic programme is designed to impart a broad-based total education to the students through wide ranging rich and diverse courses leading to academic qualifications in business management and prepare them as entry level managers in the organisations.

The curriculum of PGDM is meant to cater to the specific needs & requirements of industry & business especially in the newly emerging national & international environment. The courses and the contents of electives offered in the programmes are designed by the faculty in tune with global trends.
