Personality Assessment & Development Centre:
Establishment of Personality Assessment & Development Centre along with a comprehensive well-equipped Psychometric Testing Laboratory is a new initiative taken by AIM. Students in the Institute are administered various psychometric tests with a view to assessing their personality traits and finding the developmental inputs needed through individual and group developmental activities. The services are also offered to outside organizations.
Psychological Assessment Centre for Enhancement (PACE)
The purpose of Psychological Assessment Centre for Enhancement (PACE) is to provide a structured and organized approach to psychological assessment and training for the student, to enhance their growth and development. Customized psychological assessments and trainings for the corporate organizations, where in the process of recruitment, selection, attitudinal change, competency mapping, behavioral profiling, organizational development, etc. are also provided. Psychometrics allows one to assess the required technical skills and knowledge and personality characteristics fairly accurately and consistently, hence making the process scientific. For this purpose there is a state-of-the-art psychometric laboratory has been set up, with seating arrangement of over 40 people.
The psychometric laboratory has a variety of standardized psychological tests (paper pencil) in different areas such as: Personality (MBTI, FIRO-B, 16 PF, DISC, TAT), Aptitude (DAT, DBDA), Interest (CSI, MFIQ), Motivation, Intelligence (RSPM, Culture Fair Intelligence Test), Managerial traits (Leadership, Team building, Decision making etc.). In addition to this, to measure the psycho-motor abilities like, span of attention, reaction time, learning, perception ect. the lab is equipped with various instruments. A team of qualified psychologists, who are professionally trained in areas like Behavior profiling, Stress Management, Time Management, Anger management, Emotional Freedom Technique, Behavioral interventions, Personality development and Specific counseling etc. are working full time to carry out the various assignments. |

PACE was launched in Nov. 2007 by Prof. Manas Mandal (Director, DIPR). On that occasion many eminent personalities from academia and HR professionals, representing various organizations in the Delhi & NCR region, graced the event.

| Institute Industry Interface: |
In order to bring a better awareness and clarity among HR professionals a seminar on ‘Psychological Testing & Measurement: Present Practices and Challenges’ was organized. The speakers for the first session of the seminar were Prof. Manas K. Mandal, Prof. Radha Sharma, Prof. Nazural Hasnain, they addressed the issues related to importance, benefits & ethical issues of psychometric testing. The second part of the seminar was addressed by Mr. Dhruva Trivedi, Mr. M.D.Kaushik, Dr. Shikha Sharma, and Ms. Radhika Bhalla and their focus was on, the most popular tests, their practicality and selection of appropriate tools for the purpose of selection, recruitment, promotion etc.

Behavioral profiling of future managers is done periodically by the institute, with the introduction of PACE, a more comprehensive approach has been adopted in making behavioral profiling. A battery of test is administered on areas such as Personal and Managerial traits, accordingly best suited career paths are suggested to them.

Facilitation of data collection for international psychological projects like, ‘Role of emotions in negotiations’ for INSEAD Business School, France and ‘Situation based Emotional Intelligence Scale’ for Stanford Business School, USA etc. are also few of the many activities conducted by PACE.

Profile of the Resource Persons

Dr. M. Venkatesan, Ph.D. He is the Head of the Psychological Assessement Centre for Enhancement (PACE). He is a Behavioural Profiling trainer, certified by Thomas International UK. He has done Masters in Psychology and Doctorate in Psychology from Bharathiar University, coimbatore and JNU, New Delhi respectively. He carries more than twelve years of experience in the field of teaching, research and consultancy. He has worked with Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and leading Engineering and Management institutions in Tumkur, Jaipur and Pune between Nov 1996 - May 2006. He has succefully executed management development programme for Shapoorji Palonji Construction Limited, Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, Ashok Leyland Ltd, Rajastahn State Road Transport Corporation, Bank of Rajasthan, etc,. He is also a life member of Indian Society for Training and Development, New Delhi and Indian Scoiety for Applied Behavioral Scicences, New Delhi.

Ms. Kanika Wahi, She has a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Amity University, New Delhi and a Masters in English from Jammu University. She has gained vast experience in counseling and psychometric testing during her training period at Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre. She has conducted several workshops on areas like stress management, time management, work -life balance, and substance abuse prevention etc. in various corporate and schools. She has also been a part of several community outreach programs. She is an integral part of the PACE.

Ms. Ambrien Ahmed, She has a Masters in Applied Psychology along with diploma in Counseling Psychology from JMI, New Delhi. She is presently doing her Doctorate from the same. She has a two and half year work experience in the filed of psychological assessment and counseling. She has conducted several workshops for various corporate and schools on stress management, anger management, time management, confidence, teacher’s effectiveness, etc. She is also an integral part of the PACE. |
