Asia-Pacific Business Review is a half yearly refereed journal published by Asia-Pacific institute of Management, New Delhi. The journal invites original research and review papers , executive experience sharing, book reviews and case studies in the functional areas of management and information technology for publication.
Manuscript
Two copies of the manuscript, typed in double space on A4 size bond paper allowing 1-inch margin on all sides, should be submitted with a soft copy in CDin PC compatible MS-Word document format. CD is not required if the manuscript is e-mailed to the editor at vikas@asiapacific.edu. However, in this case two hard copies of the manuscript have to be sent separately. Manuscripts should follow British spellings throughout e.g. Programme, not program. The length of a paper including tables, diagrams, illustrations, etc., should not exceed 20 double spaced pages. Short communications relating to book reviews, review articles, reports of conferences, summary/views on various government reports, debatable issues should not exceed more than 5 double spaced pages.
Undertaking
Author(s) is (are) required to give an undertaking that the manuscripts sent for publication in this journal have not been published or sent for publication elsewhere. The format for this can be downloaded here. A note about author(s) (name, designation, affiliation/s) is to be sent along with the manuscript. All correspondence will be held with the first author only.
Review
All contributions submitted will be subjected to peer blind review and the decision of the Editorial Committee will be final at all.
Preparing Manuscripts
First page should consist of the title of the paper, name(s) of author(s) with affiliations and abstract not exceeding 150 words. Second page should start with the title of the paper again, followed by abstract and the normal text of the full paper.Name(s) of author(s) should not appear anywhere in the text from second page onward. At the end of the blind review, the editor will inform author about the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. On acceptance, the author is expected to incorporate the modifications suggested by the reviewers, if any, and again submit a disk and hard copy of the revised manuscript. An author will receive 5 reprints and a complimentary copy of the issue in which his/her paper appears.
Captions, Footnotes and References
In captions for tables, figures, graphs and column heading in tables, the first letter of the first word should be capitalized and all other words should be in lower case (except proper nouns). For example, Table 2: India’s trade with USA.
Footnotes in the text should be numbered consecutively in plain Arabic superscripts. All the footnotes, if any, should be typed under the heading ‘Footnotes’ at the end of the paper immediately after ‘Conclusion’.
Follow the Author-date (Harvard) system for in-text reference: e.g. Raman (1998) observed that…A study (Prasad et.al. 1995) found that…. When it is necessary to refer a specific page(s), cite it in the text as Raman (1998, p. 112) observed that… A study (Prasad et.al. 1995,pp.71-86) found that…. If more than one paper by the year: e.g. Raman 1998a, Raman 1998b, and Raman 1998c, so on.
Only cited works should be included in the ‘References’, which should appear at the end of the paper. Follow the reference citation strictly in accordance to the following examples.
Book: Jiambalvo, J. 2001. Managerial Accounting, New York: John Wiley & Sons, Inc., pp.20-25.
Government Publications: Annual Report 2002-03. New Delhi: Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Banking.
Chapter in a Book:
Gilberto Mendoza. 1995. A primer on marketing channels and margins. Pages 257-276 in Prices, Products and People (Gregory J Scott, ed.). London. Lynne Rienner Publishers.
Book Reviews
Book reviews must provide the following details in this order: Name of author(s), title of book reviewed, place of publication, publisher, year of publication, number of pages including preliminary pages and price with binding specifications such as paperback or hardbound.
Conference paper, Unpublished Reports and Abstract of Ph.D. and M.Phil. theses should be available on request, in original.
Manuscripts that do not conform to the above guidelines will not be considered for publication. Manuscripts not considered for publication will not be returned.
