ADR Foundational Training Program
Asia Pacific Institute of Management has recently undertaken an extensive training program for the trainees of Institute of Secretariat Training and Management ( ISTM) because of AIM’s superior IT infrastructure. The objective of the training program is to train the young trainees of ISTM on basic foundation course in efficiently using Personal Computer systems and MS Office Software systems in Local Area Network Environment. The trainees selected for the training program are the ones who have qualified for Assistant Director recruitment program (ADR) of ISTM. This effort is the first major step in opening a new Training Center in Information Technology and Management in the premises of our Institute.

ISTM had floated bid to several competing institutions in the NCR area but AIM was finally selected as one of the institutions which satisfied the IT infrastructural requirements and academic standards of ISTM. That is quite an achievement for AIM, to win a training contract from the government Organization. The total of 112 candidates were trained in two batches of nearly 56 trainees in each of the batches. Each batch had extensive training for fifteen days over three weeks period. The performance of the trainees was outstanding and the feed back which was collected from the trainees showed that they were extremely satisfied with the training program organized by the Institute.

As per discussions with the management of ISTM, they have major future requirements of training their manpower to meet the other training needs. The training is required in several areas of information technologies such as management information systems, enterprise resource planning systems, banking automation systems and power utility management systems. The future for management institutions is very promising if they are ready to impart IT education in business applications to the Government and corporate employees at a reasonable and affordable cost. The institutions need to develop a strong IT infrastructure to achieve these objectives.

The future plans for our Institute are to take up training programs for the corporate houses and other prestigious government organizations in the area of human resource management, marketing and financial management. This is one of the most effective methods of imparting education to already working professionals who are not able to join the full time program in management but still would like to keep themselves abreast of constantly changing management education in the country.

Prof. Satish Kumar Kapoor, Associate Professor (Banking & Finance) was invited by S.P.Jain Centre for Management, Dubai to teach at their global campus to the students of GMBA ( Global Master of Business Adminstration) a course on ‘Management and Marketing of financial service’. The duration of the course was one week.
