Post Graduate Diploma in Management (International Business): PGDM (IB)
Business today knows no boundaries. In this networked world national markets have merged seamlessly into one gigantic global market place. Yet, the rich cultural, social and political diversities amongst nations continue to exist. The modern global manager must therefore have a macro view of the world market without losing sight of the micro level issues. The successful organizations will therefore have to search for managers who can “think global – act local”.
The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (International Business) programme has been designed to fulfill this need of Transnational Business. The programme takes a holistic approach, so that the students are sensitized to the socio-cultural nuances, economic perspectives and legal aspects that are so critical to success in international business strategies and operations.
The demand for managers with the right background in international business grows exponentially. Multinationals, national business houses with global markets and export houses remain loyal employers. The services sector, from banking to BPOs, is another area with growing employment potential. Global operations, logistics & support functions need a large number of qualified persons. World trading bodies, Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Research organizations, Diplomatic Services & NGOs are also looking for experts in international business. Postings are global, and career paths curve steeply upward. Growth is limited only by the individual’s ambition and application.
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate under 10+2+3 system or equivalent in any discipline recognized by Association of Indian Universities/ AICTE as eligible for post- graduate studies in management. Students appearing for Final year degree examination can also apply.
The programme offers a unique opportunity to fresh graduates and experienced persons who want to enter this high growth arena of international business – whether as specialist executives in an organization or as promoters of a new international venture. It is also provides high value addition to entrepreneurs already into international business, who wish to optimize, expand and diversify their business operations.
