Frequently Asked Questions

These answers cover the questions XAT aspirants ask most often about XAT 2027, from dates and eligibility to GK and preparation timing.

01. What is the XAT exam date 2027?

XAT 2027 will be held on Sunday, 3 January 2027, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The admit card is expected from 20 December 2026 (tentative), and results usually follow about three weeks after the exam.

02. When does XAT 2027 registration end, and what is the fee?

Registration closes on 6 December 2026. The fee is ₹2,300, plus ₹200 for each XLRI programme you apply to. Submit early, since changes after final submission are allowed only in exceptional cases.

03. Who is eligible for XAT 2027?

You need a recognised bachelor’s degree of at least three years, or an equivalent, in any discipline. Final-year students can apply if they finish their final exams by 11 June 2027. Individual colleges may add their own criteria.

04. How many questions and what marking scheme does the XAT exam 2027 have?

XAT 2027 has 95 multiple-choice questions in 180 minutes. Part 1 gives one mark for a correct answer and deducts 0.25 for a wrong one. The GK part has no negative marking.

05. Does the GK section count in the XAT percentile?

No. According to published pattern summaries, the 20-question GK part is scored separately and is not used for percentile calculation. XLRI and some institutes may consider it later, so the preparation still pays off.

06. What is the XAT syllabus 2027 for general knowledge?

Reported topics include economy, business, politics, sports, awards, science, world events and the Constitution, with roughly 12 current affairs and 8 static questions. Pay special attention to 2026 developments.

07. How should I start XAT preparation with about twelve weeks left?

Revise fundamentals, take a full mock every week and study your mistakes, and practise Decision Making cases separately. Keep GK to a short daily slot, and raise your mock frequency during the final month.

08. Can I apply to AIM with an XAT score?

AIM’s admission page lists a valid score in any one of CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT or ATMA, along with a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks. Shortlisted candidates take a group discussion and personal interview. Check the page for current details.
