How to Crack CAT 2018? (It’s Easier Than You Think)
Time is one of the most valuable assets an individual can attain. It is even more valuable for those seeking to achieve greater heights in their career life, yet it often feels like the scarcest of all, especially when one is juggling between roles during their academic journey from case studies, group projects, presentations, networking events, and personal commitments. Academic success for MBA students is balancing between the tasks at hand while still making room for professional growth. Pursuing a career has always been a thrilling and demanding experience for aspirants seeking to excel in the corporate world. But pursuing an MBA altogether is one of the best options, and it can often be an overwhelming experience for some. Therefore, the key to a thriving experience in an MBA program is not just hard work but smart work as well, which is the beginning of mastering time management. MBA students can unlock full academic potential by learning how to prioritise tasks, set realistic goals and maintain focus.
Set Clear Quarterly & Monthly Goals - Set clear goals as you progress with your studies into building your professional career. These goals enable you to prioritise your tasks from the most crucial and hardest task first to the least important or shallow task to handle. It enables you to identify your performance throughout your course.
Set Clear Deadlines and Meet Your Milestones – Fix your deadline for any task, such as projects, assignments, internships, research work and more. Complete each task before your deadline, and this will give you some time to review your task before moving up to the next and will help you avoid the last-minute crunches.
Allocate Specific Time – Create a weekly or monthly calendar with specific time slots. This helps you balance your study-life and positively helps you reach your milestones. By planning your days and time ahead, it will reduce your decision fatigue as to which task, when and how to complete the same.
Apply Pomodoro Technique – To reduce fatigue and burnout, use the pomodoro technique of 30 minutes of work and 5-minute breaks or so. It helps stimulate your concentration and maintain your focus on the task at hand. It also protects you from mental fatigue.
Delegate & Collaborate Smartly – If you have a group assignment or teamwork, always allocate and collaborate with your team members to avoid burnout. Learn to delegate tasks as it will broaden your understanding of their perspectives as well as ease your workload.
Limit Distractions – When you do your tasks, always put your phone or other gadgets in silent or flight more. This will protect you from giving your attention to all the notifications.
Buffer Time for Unexpected Tasks – Always leave some buffer time in a day to review your tasks or just recharge from your whole day’s stress.
