AIM’s faculty were invited to attend the International Conference in Indonesia
AIM is proud to share that Prof. Saurabh Mittal (ACP-IT) and Dr. Jitender Bhandari (Programme Director – PGDM) were invited by the Gunadarma University, Indonesia as keynote speakers for an International Conference held at Hotel Sheraton. On this 3-day conference, the esteemed faculty were invited to speak on ‘Digital Economy’.
About the Conference :
The conference was organized by AAMAI (Indonesia Insurance Institute) and Gunadarma University at Yogyakarta, Indonesia. There were big names attached to the conference who were invited along with AIM’s faculty to share their insights on digital economy. The other speakers were Mr. Kresno Sediarsi, Director – Utama Bank DKI, Prof. Dr. Ercan Uygur from Turkish Economic Association Ankara, Turkey, and Dr. Himanashu Dutt, Head – CRM & Customer Experience, Bajaj Capital Ltd. This conference saw a mix of practitioners and researchers as participants who have the sessions on Industry and Scientific perspective on insurance. The conference attracted around 42 papers presented in four parallel sessions.
Prof. Saurabh Mittal on Digital Economy :
AIM faculty Prof. Saurabh Mittal spoke on the issue of Mobile Payment Systems. The focus area was adoption of mobile wallets as a payment channel by developing countries. Prof. Mittal discussed in detail about the Digital Insurance Landscape in India and shared initiatives and activities in the domain of Digital Insurance in the form of aggregator and online versions of the insurance scheme in India.
Dr. Jitender Bhandari on Digital Economy :
AIM faculty Dr. Jitender Bhandari shared his views on the topic Internet based payments and their broader impact on the economy. Dr. Bhandari discussed the Macro Economic and Micro Economic framework for the digital insurance in India. The major government directives and laws governing the insurance sector were also included in the discussions.
The other speakers touched base on Digital Applications in Insurance Business, Financial Technology in Cyber Risks and Outlook of Reinsurance Capacity in Indonesia. The conference attracted participants from USA, Singapore, Japan, Russia, UK, Malaysia and India. The delegates added value to the discussion by sharing their views and insights on the topic.
It was a delightful and information sharing event for all, added Prof. Saurabh Mittal. When asked about the experience from Dr. Jitender Bhandari, he praised the other keynote speakers with whom he exchanged his thoughts on digital economy and thanked AIM for providing an opportunity to represent the institute on a global platform. Out and out, the conference was a big success and participants took some key learning from the sessions held. AIM keeps on organizing and participating in such seminars which gives the institute global exposure and brand awareness across the globe.
