Understanding The PGDM Courses & Its Scope

PGDM Eligibility Criteria

Though every institution possesses different PGDM eligibility criteria for admissions when it comes to the PGDM program, aspirants need to follow a few sets of rules and procedural standards for the admission. 

1.Qualification

Education background lays an essential step for the PGDM eligibility criteria. The applicants are required to possess a bachelor’s or equivalent degree in any discipline before opting for the management course. They need to score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized university in India. Business schools verify the Qualification mentioned in the application form with the original documents submitted during the final call. Thus applicants are desired to fulfill the required academic record before enrolling for the program. 

2. Entrance Exams

Before enrolling for PGDM programs, candidates are required to have appeared for entrance exams as per AICTE guidelines. They must have cleared CAT /MAT/CMAT/XAT/ GMAT examination with a valid score card for admission. Every year, a huge number of students appear for these exams to get admission in the top B-school.  

3. GD / PI Process

GD / PI i.e., Group Discussion and Personal Interview, are an integral part of PGDM eligibility criteria and admission process for management programs. Basically, it is a personality assessment test that evaluates the leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills of the candidate. They need to be well prepared for the GD / PI process as it helps the business schools in understanding the important managerial skills of the candidate. 

4. Entrance Exam Cut Off

Since CAT /MAT/CMAT/XAT/ GMAT is universal examinations, every b-school generates their cut off list for a fair admission call. The cut off list is generated on the basis of the merit attained in MAT / CAT /XAT results. The candidates who possess a minimum cut-off percentile are called for the final GD / PI process. 

5. Document Verification

Before accepting the final candidature, B- Schools conduct a thorough document verification process. This process constitutes the most crucial stage in PGDM eligibility criteria. The students are called to submit their original documents at the time of the selection a process which includes the Mark sheet of Class X, Class XII, Graduation (all years/ semesters), Certificate for age proof, Degree/ Provisional degree, and valid scorecard of CAT/GMAT/XAT/CMAT /MAT whichever is applicable. If any candidate fails to submit the original proofs required, the b-school can reject his/ her candidature.
