Placement Strategy
The Academic pedagogy of the course curriculum is made complete through placement strategy that introduces them to the corporate world environment. Under the aegis of APIM various Management events are conducted to develop all-round personality of the students by making them personally and professionally updated for the corporate requirements.
CCR broadly conducts the placement activities wherein it covers Pre-Placement Talks, live project work, summer internship, invite corporate speaker and Final Placement. In fact, the Institute continues to maintain a consistent placement record since its inception.
Placement Activities
Placement is just one of the meeting points between Institute and the Industry. It is our endeavour to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between the students and the industry. Asia-Pacific Institute of Management provides a platform for placement where companies are invited to recruit students of various specializations . Potential employers are able to undertake on-campus recruitment through a stream-lined process of registrations, PPTs and selection. Understanding the significance of using the right aptitude and knowledge skill-sets for the right task, the Placement Team seeks to provide corporate and students the best opportunities for mutually beneficial selection. Responsible for identifying the right student-organization fit, the Placement Team selects, targets and invites companies for Final Placements and Summer Internships.
Pre-Placement talk (PPT)
The placement programme starts in October and is scheduled to continue in tandem with the academic calendar and mutual convenience with recruiters.
It is an opportunity for the corporate world to interact and to get better acquainted with their prospective recruits, both for 6 months project and final placements. Industry make presentation in which students concerns like Job description, remuneration package, scope for growth, cross-functional exposure are addressed.
Written Aptitude Test (WAT)s
As part of the selection procedure, many organisations conduct written tests. All the necessary arrangements are made by the Institute. The companies can conduct these tests during their visit to the campus for pre placement talk.
Some of the focussed activities are
Career counselling by faculty and trained professionals in different functional areas.
A structured Personality Development Programme, wherein interviewing skills are imbibed by trainers and corporates alike.
Developing effective resumes.
Mentoring by the alumni, in terms of sharing experiences vis-à-vis realities of corporate life, refining expectations and projecting future trends.
The Placement Team identifies the potential recruiters, interacts with selected companies and coordinates the visit of such corporate executives to the campus.
An effective way of creating awareness about companies among students is to provide information. The information could be in the form of company brochures, pamphlets and other published information. The Placement Officer ensures distribution of published material among students.
At Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, New Delhi various events, guest speaker panels, conferences, workshops and academic fairs are organized in which companies participate directly or contribute through partnerships.
Projects are an integral part of the academic curriculum at Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, New Delhi. Both summer and Live projects with organizations provide students with basic understanding of the company’s operations; this ultimately enhances the adaptability of students at large.
Summer Internship Program
Summer Training 10 weeks Paid Summer Project constitutes an integral part of the PGDBM Curriculum and is valued for its relevance in Management education and its application. The Centre for Corporate Relation facilitates in locating suitable projects in different organizations. The companies discuss with the Institute faculty and CRC Team about the projects for which they would like to engage the student for training. The student carefully picks up the projects and they have to accept the first offer they get. As a part of project work students are required to submit a report. The presentation made by them for the organization forms the basis for the evaluation of the Summer Project.
