Dr. B. P. Rath, Additional General Manager, NTPC, has over twenty-nine years of experience in power sector including operation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of Power plant. His managerial experience includes planning of overhauls and major repairs, contract preparation and scheduling. Worked in a wide range of functions including budget planning. CDM etc. Presently, he works as Additional General Manager, Engineering at NTPC. Led NTPC in association with GTZ developing a new methodology for estimate of emission reduction for (3×660 MW) North Karanpura STPP that was approved as ACM 0013 (Approved Consolidated Methodology) by United Nations Frame Work Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Mr Rath is an M Tech from IIT, Delhi and PhD (MBA) from Aligarh Muslim University. His thesis was on “Integrating Emission Reduction in the Import of LNG in Indian Energy Sector.” Recently, he worked on “Brain, Synapsis and Neurons” at AL Hebrew University, Israel and “Neuro-economics” at Higher School of Economics, Russia. He has the right mix of industry and academic experience. He has published a number of papers and has been a visiting faculty and guest speaker at several technical and business schools like All India Management Association, PMI, Noida, Institute of Petroleum Management, Noida, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, NTPC School of Business, Manipal Institute of Technology etc.
