On Thursday, 4th of October, 2 representatives from Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management visited Asia-Pacific Institute of Management for a Pre-Placement Talk.
The students expected the regular PPT presentation. However, what followed was something unusual, something totally unconventional.
After a little conversation that surrounded around Aditya Birla Group and its past and future ventures, Ms. Saumya Bhatt touched a topic that a lot of our students felt connected with: the apprehensions of mingling in a whole different kind of environment, especially when you come from a small town. Ms. Bhatt shared her own story when she decided to pursue MBA in Pune and her own fears of coming from a small town like Almorha and how she finally managed to get over her feelings and got on with her studies and finally becoming a part of Aditya Birla Family.
Mr. Sahil Bajaj, the other representative and also alumni of Asia-Pacific Institute of Management, reminisced about his days in the campus and his journey post education to one of the most notable business conglomerates in India.
Together the representatives helped the students get comfortable with a little peppy talk as well as busted the myth of dream jobs. They helped the students get a sneak peek into the ever-evolving world of Aditya Birla, and how remaining mobile (at least to the work of locations) is one of the things that anybody thinking about joining any company of the group must be open about. The session lasted for about 2 hours and ended with a positive note both the representatives appreciating the home work that our students did before coming for the Talk, and their eagerness to begin their career with a renowned group like Aditya Birla.
